Armagh Rhymers in association St Brigid’s Festival. An Táin Arts Centre will play host to the legendary Armagh Rhymers, a ritual performance as part of St Brigid’s Festival. Performed in the housevisiting style of Wren Boys, Strawmen, Mummers, Biddymen, Mollies, Ribbonmen, Skettlers, Guisers, Gallochians, and Wildermen, with masks by James Mulholland, Paul Carville, Bob Johnston, Peter J Shortall and costumes by Anne Hart. Music on the night will be played on pipes, fiddle, concertina, bones, bodhrans, bells and the jaw bone of an ass. Songs, tunes, stories, rhymes, drama and haiku complete the picture – this promises to be a truly special event.
