An otherworldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1962. Del Toro’s beautiful, romantic fairy tale centres on mute Elisa who suffers from loneliness. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda discover a secret classified experiment. Elisa is drawn to the creature, gaining its trust as the two ultimately fall in love and search for a way to be together. Starring: Sally Hawkins, Octavia Spencer.
