Lunchtime talk by exhibition curator Wendy Williams on ‘Jacob’s Biscuit Factory & Dublin: An Assorted History’ with kind permission of Dublin City Library & Archive (DCLA). Parking on Ardee Road.
The talk will draw on the vast Jacob Biscuit Factory Archives held at DCLA. In the first decades of the 20thC biscuits made by workers in the Bishop Street factory of W & R Jacob & Co graced tables from Bombay to Buenos Aires. This talk looks at many aspects of Jacob’s 160 year business legacy from the origins of the names of the biscuits to welfare provisions for the people who made them. The exhibition was curated by DCLA, and funded by Dublin City Council Decade of Commemoration.
