The sporting story
As the sighted pilot on a tandem, Eve McCrystal built a remarkable partnership with Katie-George Dunlevy. Their Tokyo Paralympic campaign in 2021 delivered road-race and time-trial gold alongside individual-pursuit silver. McCrystal also won Ireland's elite road-race title in 2018 and the national time-trial title in 2020. Originally from Jenkinstown and based in Dundalk, she and Dunlevy trained together at her Dundalk home during lockdown. Their achievements show the precision, shared effort and trust behind a tandem performance, alongside McCrystal's own strength as an individual rider.
A lasting connection.
