- Three heat pumps proposed
- Protected building on Jocelyn Street
- Submissions deadline: 25 November, 5pm
What is being proposed?
Louth County Council has published a proposal to change the museum’s heating and hot-water systems. The notice describes replacing fossil-fuel equipment with three heat pumps and a dedicated plant enclosure.
The museum is a protected structure within the Roden Place Architectural Conservation Area. The proposal is therefore a story about both the continued use of an important town building and the practical work of adapting it.

Where the project stands
The notice is dated 13 October 2026. Plans can be inspected until 11 November, with submissions accepted until 5pm on 25 November. Publication of the proposal does not mean the works have been approved or completed.
The notice does not establish a construction date, project cost or quantified carbon saving. Those details should not be assumed from the proposed change in heating system.

Our perspective & suggestionsOur suggestion: read the drawings and supporting documents alongside the short notice. For anyone interested in heritage buildings, this is a chance to see how an energy project is being considered in a conservation setting.
