A warehouse becomes a place of memory

County Museum Dundalk opened in 1994 within a restored former industrial warehouse at Roden Place. Its collections follow County Louth from the Stone Age into modern life, bringing objects, local stories and interpretation together across three permanent galleries. Here, the history of the building and the histories inside it reinforce one another: a place associated with production and storage became a place to conserve and question the past.↗1

Why it matters here

The museum gives visitors and residents a town-centre starting point for researching the wider history of Louth.
